In a hard-fought matchup against the San Francisco 49ers and the Carolina Panthers, the Panthers made a name for themselves. They justified their play as elite. Even though Cam Newton only threw 169 yard, 0 touchdowns and 1 interception, the Carolina defense was able to limit the 49ers to 0 touchdowns and 151 yards. Steve Smith lead Carolina with 8 catches for 63 yards. DeAngelo Williams was Carolina’s leading rusher with 46 yards and a touchdown. The 49ers did win in one category, Frank Gore lead all rushers with 82 yards in 16 carries. However,Colin Kaepernick would probably want to forget his 91 yard,1 interception performance. The Panthers are now 6-3 and are 1 game behind in the NFC South, behind the New Orleans Saints. The Panthers do however currently hold the 2nd NFC Wildcard spot. They will face the New England Patriots On MNF In Week 11. The 49ers will travel to New Orleans face a very dangerous Saints team.
