Verdict:

The Swans had a terrific season last time, it wasn’t just because Spanish sensation Michu though, Michael Laudrup’s expertise led them to a top 10 finish and the chemistry in the side has always been brilliant.

Michel Vorm was injured for a large spell of last season, this gave fairly unknown back up keeper Gerhard Tremmel the opportunity to show why he should start. He did alright, with fine displays against Liverpool among others, the 34-year old impressed many. In defence, Jordi Amat has been signed and sealed as the only aquisition in the back line. Ashley Williams and Chico Flores are good, but I feel one more decent defender is needed to bolster the squad.

I love Swansea’s midfield pass the ball about, in fact, I could watch them play for hours. Dyer, Routledge, De Guzman and Pablo Hernandez now have even more pass masters to join them. The signing of Jonjo Shelvey was clever, he was not being played much at Anfield and is a serious talent. Alejandro Pozuelo  is one that I will be keeping an eye on over the course of the campaign. I have a feeling he could be the next big thing.

Although Michu is played up-front by Michael Laudrup, he is actually a midfielder. Still, who says he can’t change? He will be brilliant again, but this time as a provider for the indispensable Wilfried Bony. The former Vittesse striker scored 31 goals in 30 games, more than a goal per game. He will be my second favourite to land the golden boot because he reminds a lot of Didier Drogba. In reserve, Roland Lamah is a fantastic and key player for the defence of their League Cup trophy.

We are getting more and more used to Swansea and the way they play every year, this year is probably the season they try and push for another top eight finish and cup success.
