UFC: Dan Henderson Challenges Lyoto Machida

BY CENA HARPIN

Lyoto Machida was first scheduled to face Chris Weidman at UFC 173, but Weidman got injured, so Henderson came forward and challenged “The Dragon”.

Lyoto Machida and Dan Henderson have actually already battled inside the Octagon before, in a fight which saw Machida defeat Henderson by a split decision. The scheduled Weidman/Machida fight has now been postponed to July 5th, at UFC 175, but obviously Dan Henderson has other ideas and wants a rematch with “The Dragon” before then.

Dan Henderson says this coming off a big win over another Brazilian in a rematch, knocking out Shogun Rua on Sunday

I would definitely be down for this fight. Their first bout was brilliant, and I believe this rematch would be even better. After many people were hyped for Weidman vs. Machida, they were disappointed after it was postponed, but I think having “The Dragon” and “Hendo” fight again is possibly the best choice for a replacement main event.
