BARCLAYS PREMIER LEAGUE: Preview Series, 2013/14 – Sunderland

By Nisar Khan

Paulo Di Canio has the intention of the best for Sunderland. They just survived the relegation battle last season, and this season we believe that their efficient signings and confidence could catapult them to a solid mid-table position. Here’s why:

Verdict

Sunderland seem very confident going into this season, and this is a fundamental boost in being much, much safer from relegation as oppose to last year.
Larrson has a key role for Sunderland and I think he will perform again as well as the predicted main man, Emanuele Giaccherini.
Paul Di Canio may be a controversial manager, but he is also a very charged and motivated manager and you can expect this to rub off on the rest of the team.
They made a lot of cheap signings and this is a major help with addition to the squad and fresh players in the Stadium of Light. Plus, you can expect Sessegnon to come back stronger after a second season.
Sunderland will be motivated to perform much better after the close relegation battle that saw them come 17th. With the addition of new signings and a pumped up manager, I predict them to finish 10th in a secure mid-table position.
