Opening the main card was the Women’s Bantamweight Division. UFC 157 headliner Liz Carmouche became the first Woman to fight in an Octagon twice in her first UFC victory over Jessica Andrade.

Jessica Andrade was the better of the two in the first round, and Carmouche managed to hold through the arm-in guillotine as the first round drew to a close.

Liz Carmouche would fire back emphatically in the second round and she was relentless on the ground with constant strikes, making the stoppage imminent.

The fight was finished in the high mount when Carmouche had a series of unanswered shots, causing Herb Dean to stop the fight.

Robbie Lawler got his 18th knockout in his UFC career following his Round 2 finish over Bobby Voelker.

The vicious Bobby Voelker got Lawler stunned a few times in the first round, but a highlight from Round 1 was a huge flying knee and Lawler finished Round 1 with his strikes definitely landing.

In Round 2, Lawler opened up with a flurry of punches but slipped. After recovering, Robbie Lawler hit a HUGE head kick on Voelker sending him crashing to the mat, it was all over, what a knockout.

In the co-main event, Welterweights Rory McDonald and Jake Ellenberger went the distance, but the fight seemed to lack the action that was much anticipated going into the fight.

Rory McDonald prevailed via Unanimous Decision, although this fight was not as good as we expected, and the fans showed it with boos towards the end of the first round and the end of the bout.

McDonald’s jab was the difference for this fight as it allowed him to score much more and made it hard for Jake Ellenberger to combat.

It was a case of time running out for Jake Ellenberger, McDonald managed to stay ahead of him and took the Unanimous Decision win (30-27, 29-28, 30-27).

Finally, in the main event, Demetrius Johnson got the latest stoppage in the UFC after submitting John Moraga via armbar with less than two minutes remaining.

Johnson was relentless in his takedown attempts and Moraga found himself on the canvas numerous times.

It was a showing of incredible talent by Demetrius Johnson, using his speed and wrestling skills to defeat Moraga, but Moraga’s effort put up a challenge and that is why it took 5 rounds for the finish.

Demetrius Johnson, still your UFC Flyweight Champion on a great night from Seattle.
