In the first of three Semi-Finals, Justin Gatlin prevailed with a time of 9.95 followed by Nesta Carter. China’s Bingtian Su was disqualified following the false start while Gatlin and Nesta qualified automatically.

Great Britain’s James Dasaolu was in the Second Semi-Final, after he managed to just get through qualifying on Saturday. Another false start saw Canada’s Gavin Smellie receive a warning for a twitch before the gun.

James Dasaolu lead at around 70m but Nickel Ashmeade and Kemar Bailey-Cole overtook him to automatically qualify with times of 9.90s and 9.93s. Dasaolu would get through to the final being the fastest loser with a sub-10 time.

And in the third Semi-Final, Usain Bolt took the third Semi-Final in 9.92, and he seemed composed while even smiling at Mike Rogers who came second.

Usain Bolt and Justin Gatlin were the two hot topics going into a great race which saw Justin Gatlin get off to a great start, but Usain Bolt would chase him down and storm ahead.

It was not the day however for Britain’s James Desaolu who came eighth in the race and Christopher Leimatre picked up an injury during the race.

Usain Bolt’s fellow compatriot Nesta Carter picked up Bronze coming Third with a time of 9.95.

Usain Bolt won the tight race in 9.77 seconds meanwhile Justin Gatlin claimed Silver with a time of 9.85.

Bolt has got the title back of which he lost in 2011 after a false start in the final.

Media preview

It was a personal best for the Olympic Champion  Mo Farah, who took the race easy but then put on an excellent final lap while taking caution ahead of the Championships in Moscow.

Mo Farah broke completely clear of the others to an outstanding ovation to the thousands at the Olympic Stadium.
The Britons who were present to watch got what they wanted, with an excellent performance by Mo Farah. It was a comfortable pace from the start, but he stormed the final lap in a time of 55 seconds.
But the work is not done there as Mo Farah has the intentions for further success at his upcoming Championships:
“This is where I love to run and last year at the Olympics was a really big year for me. This is where I made my name. Each time I race I want to make my country proud. I am honored to represent my country. Tomorrow I’ll go to St Moritz to train ahead of the World Championships and hopefully I’ll get on the podium there.”
Jamaica were outstanding in the 4x100m relay, they were on point with the baton transfers. Meanwhile, Britain dropped the baton and were left in despair.
Usain Bolt stormed through the final straight but just fell short of the record.

A time of 35.75 seconds keeps Jamaica on top, and looking unstoppable.

The London Anniversary Games brings back great memories from the London 2012 Olympics, and the victors remain in Mo Farah and Usain Bolt. Could this be the same outcome in the Moscow Championships?
