The West Indies have finished runners up twice before in this tournament, won it in 2004 and have the leading run scorer in the history in Chris Gayle. He has scored 695 runs in the past and is looking in fine form after an explosive IPL season with the Royal Challengers Bangalore. They also have big shots in Keiron Pollard, Dwayne Bravo, Darren Sammy and Devon Smith who can all hit sixes for fun. They also have young starlet Jason Holder who is a young prodigy with promise and he should what he can do with the Chennai Super Kings in this years IPL. All this should add up to a good tournament? No. They are in the hardest and toughest group of the tournament with the world champions India, Mercurial Pakistan and a consistent South Africa side and for this reason I dont expect much from the Windies this year.
Will the West Indies hit sixes galore? Are they going to challenge TSM’s predictions of them? Find out during the ICC Champions Trophy 2013 with TSM.
