BY WrestlingFanFury92

Rey Mysterio, a longtime WWE/WCW veteran has been injured once again as his contract expires very soon.

Hi, my name is Quadree(WrestlingFanFury92) and I am a new writer for TheSportMatrix. I will be writing Pro Wrestling news, previews, results, and many other wrestling articles. Follow me on Twitter here.

Mysterio has suffered successive knee injuries

Mysterio’s future in WWE is bleak as his contract expires and he has been injured once again. The aging has caught up with Rey and he has suffered many injuries during the past few years as well, mainly his knee. Reportedly, Rey Mysterio will work on a very limited schedule and will become more of an ambassador for WWE more so than a full time wrestler.

Rey Mysterio has injured his knee once again. Will he wrestle one final match and retire? I believe he will be inducted into the Hall of Fame for sure when he finally retires. What are your thoughts on this situation? Share your thoughts in the comments below.

WrestleMania Reportedly Reaches 1 Million Houses In US

BY NISAR KHAN

WrestleMania 30 reached over 1 million houses in the US alone, breaking a record for the company, WWE.com reports.

A statement on WWE Corporate stated this was “the first time WrestleMania has eclipsed this mark domestically” for the event that took place in the Mercedes’ SuperDome in New Orleans.

WrestleMania 30 was the first special event to be broadcast live on the WWE Network which has the whereabouts of 667,000 subscribers currently.”WWE is confident that it will reach its goal of 1 million subscribers by the end of 2014″, the statement continued.

The figure accounted for PPV buys and WWE Network views in the US as the figure compliments an event that may go down as the most memorable WrestleMania in history.

WrestleMania 30 saw the historic and shocking end of The Undertaker’s 21 – 0 undefeated WrestleMania streak at the hands of Brock Lesnar (who topped the week’s Power Rankings for his efforts), while Daniel Bryan captured the WWE World Heavyweight Championship on the same night.

BREAKING NEWS: Brock Lesnar Ends The Undertaker’s Streak

BY NISAR KHAN

NEW ORLEANS – Brock Lesnar shocked the World at WrestleMania 30 on Sunday as he ended The Undertaker’s 21-0 undefeated streak bringing about rumors of the WWE legend’s retirement.

Undertaker, who had dispatched the likes of Kane, Triple H and Shawn Michaels in his undefeated run, was not good enough to see off Brock Lesnar.

It would take three F5s to finish the Phenom and a subdued silence surrounded the Super Dome arena as Undertaker was counted out 1…2…3…

Twitter exploded as everyone was shocked, not one person really could have thought that it would end like this.

Sports entertainment’s greatest streak has ended.

WWE BATTLEGROUND: Hall of Famer Dusty Rhodes Rumored to Wrestle on Next PPV

By Cena Harpin

It has been report that WWE Hall Of Famer and “American Dream” Dusty Rhodes could work a match at the next WWE PPV, Batteground.

Rhodes hasn’t worked a WWE match in ages now and he isn’t getting any younger. With Dusty being 68 years old, would this match be a mistake and cause a possible injury?

For example, WWE Hall Of Famer Jerry “The King” Lawler worked a few matches in 2012 and had a short feud with CM Punk. Lawler recently said in an interview, “Ziggler was partially to blame for my heart attack”.

Lawler is just a bit younger than Rhodes. If Dusty got in the ring again, the question is, who would he face? There are different roads to go down. The first match that came into my mind was Dusty, Goldust and Cody Rhodes vs The Shield. Although the Rhodes family may not win, it would give Cody a huge push and that’s what he deserves.

Expect Dusty to come back (after he got knocked out) and get attacked by The Shield only for Cody Rhodes to save him. I’m not sure how the WWE would put Goldust back into this but it would be very interesting.

Could Dusty Rhodes be in the ring in three weeks? Is the American Dream set to return back to the ropes? We’ll find out in due course…
